African Mask

These are a few of the really great African inspired masks my second graders have worked on the past couple rotations.  The second graders have learned about traditional African art and created a shield, a mask and will make a necklace.  I downloaded the unit packet on African Art from Deep Space Sparkle also and plan to add a couple of additional lessons from the packet to complete my unit.  I am so proud of these masks so far!  They are really understanding the use of the additional materials to embellish, instead of just having a clump of feathers glued or an over use of additional materials.
