A Beautiful Outcome

I found this project on a blog, which blog-I can't remember.  It was a blur.  I was looking for something to do for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day.  I came across this lesson that tied in Jasper Johns and the idea of not having definite outlines.  The students looked at pictures of "0-9" by and discussed how they could see the numbers even though there were no outlines.  The students used only primary colors and we brainstormed words that embraced the King ideals.  These are the pictures that I took of the student's work.  They enjoyed it so much, that they asked to complete the paintings, even though this was a one day lesson.  I admit; I love these!  They were so happy and I was too!  (It doesn't get much better than that.)
